Protecting chat from spam & bots

Mycroft protects your chat out of the box. A blacklist of known bot & spam accounts, shared across all Mycroft channels, is enforced automatically. Mycroft also ignores known bots lurking in chat.

All commands below are for (Mod/Streamer only).

Ban anyone whose message matches a spam or hate phrase

!ban users saying <phrase>

Ban name patterns. These apply only to accounts created within the last 7 days, so your genuine regulars are safe.

!ban users startingwith <value>
!ban users endingwith <value>
!ban users containing <value>

Ban all users matching a curated list of common bot/spam names

Lurk bots

Mycroft can also auto-ban lurking bots. You can enable this from the admin website. Use the commands below to keep your favorite lurk bots safe.

Add a bot to the lurk bots allowlist

!addlurkbot <bot name>

Remove a bot from the allowlist

!removelurkbot <bot name>
